Terms of use.
Effective September 8, 2026.
PlateHerder is a product of Loop & Pixel LLC. These terms govern your use of PlateHerder. By using the service, you agree to these terms and acknowledge our privacy policy.
What PlateHerder provides
PlateHerder helps you find cooking sources, extract ingredients and steps, keep a private library, and organize shopping and household meals. Extraction and AI suggestions can be incomplete or wrong. Review quantities, timing and instructions against the original source. Check ingredients and labels yourself for allergies and dietary needs. PlateHerder does not verify food safety, dietary suitability or nutritional accuracy and does not provide medical advice.
Your account and household
Keep your account and app tokens secure. Share household access only with people you intend to include, and add personal information about others only when authorized. Household roles control what members can change; shared meal details are visible to household members. Your personal notes are not included in shared plate snapshots.
Sources and content
Creators retain their rights to their content. Importing a link does not give you ownership of its video, images or writing, or permission to republish them. Keep source attribution intact and submit only material you may use. You retain your rights to your own content and allow us to process, store and display it as needed to provide the features you choose, including sharing within a household when you add it to a plan.
PlateHerder uses YouTube API Services. By using PlateHerder's YouTube features, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's handling of information is described in the Google Privacy Policy. YouTube connections are optional and read-only. Videos play through YouTube; source availability and permissions can change independently of PlateHerder.
Choosing to publish
Your library is private by default. If you publish an original plate, you authorize PlateHerder to display that public version and other users to save private copies with attribution. Publish only your own work. Your private notes and tags are excluded. You can unpublish the public version; copies already saved by others remain available to them. Editing your private plate does not automatically update the public version.
Acceptable use
Do not bypass quotas or access controls, access someone else's private data, misuse account tokens, or use PlateHerder for unlawful activity. The import feature is for sources you individually choose, not bulk crawling or building a public copy of other people's websites. We may limit access to address abuse or security problems and honor creator removal requests.
Availability and changes
PlateHerder is in early access. Features and quotas may change, and interruptions or errors may occur. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, permanent access to third-party sources, or accurate AI output. Nothing in these terms removes rights that applicable law gives you. Changes to these terms will be published here with an updated effective date.
